The codeVision platform was developed by industry experts with over 75 years of combined experience in software engineering, signal processing and machine vision. The resulting architecture is the culmination of this experience - a modular, flexible, state-of-the-art software engine designed to run on PDAs, mobile handsets, Smartphones and Web cameras.
Optimized for Consumer Devices
mVision’s engineers, drawing on deep technical expertise and industry know-how, have refined and optimized our algorithms to execute quickly and efficiently on processors commonly found in mobile devices, e.g., ARM, TI OMAP, XScale, etc.
Software Only
codeVision is a software-only solution offering many advantages over hardware-based alternatives. codeVision adds zero weight and bulk, consumes minimal power, can be reconfigured and upgraded quickly and easily, and requires no maintenance.
Robust
Over the past several years, the codeVision algorithms have been tested and refined using literally thousands of barcode images covering a wide array of industry-standard 1D and 2D code formats. Our test images reflect the harsh conditions of real-world environments blur, rotation, low-light and partial destruction and codeVision performs admirably, ensuring a fast, accurate decode.
Flexible
codeVision is designed to work with consumer-grade digital cameras, from CMOS to CCD, black-and-white to color and from VGA to megapixel imaging sensors. Employing the concept of interfaces and variation points, codePoint is the most flexible, broadly applicable solution in the marketplace.
Adaptive
codeVision has the ability to recognize standard symbologies automatically and adaptively. Unlike other alternatives, codeVision recognizes and decodes standard 1D and 2D symbols, without user intervention.
Modular
codeVision is designed to be completely modular, enabling our customers to deploy the smallest, fastest configuration available in the industry. Customers only deploy what they need, keeping the footprint and working set of the application compact and making very efficient use of system resources such as CPU cycles, RAM and battery power.
Small Footprint
codeVision is measured in kilobytes not megabytes. codeVision’s core recognition engine is 5K, with decoders in the 10-25K range depending on the target symbology.
Portable
Written with portability in mind, codeVision is written entirely in ANSI C, the most ubiquitous language available across a multitude of CPUs and operating system. This means that codeVision will port readily to your device and integrate seamlessly into your product line.
